This was a phenomenal episode and the first part of a two part episode.
When i first watched this episode I thought that maybe Shannon may still be alive and in witness protection since this dream was really the first dream we have seen of her as if she didn't die but I forgot that she said to Gibbs "You have to let me go" and then wakes up. It was a wonderful, heartbreaking scene and those of us who have followed NCIS since the beginning know all to well that Gibbs has had a real struggle on his hands concerning the fact the his wife Shannon and their daughter had been gunned down in cold blood. It is something that haunts Gibbs everyday and perhaps her spirit was setting him free at last.
Now Gibbs is on a mission to find the one service person who he thinks was not killed when that plane went down bringing home the bodies of those kiled in Afghanistan. He has proof that she was never killed and the first part of this episode ended with Vance telling him to go and bring her home. So Gibbs is off to Afghanistan and this will be where the second part of this episode starts.
Kudos to the cast and crew for another great episode from this wonderful series.
